Earth Day is a special holiday for environmental protection, which aims to raise people's awareness of environmental protection, encourage people to participate in environmental protection movements, and improve the earth's environment through green and low-carbon living.

2024 is the 55th Earth Day. From April 20th to 21st, under the guidance of Kunming Dianchi Lake Administration and Kunming Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League, sponsored by Yunnan Dianchi Lake Protection and Governance Foundation, co-organized by Kunming Cuihu Park, and undertaken by Weber Science and Technology Innovation Activity Center, the "World Earth Day" Science and Technology Conservation Campaign - Global War "Plastic" Protecting the Green Planet Science Popularization Series Activities was held in Cuihu Park, with 1200 groups of parent-child families actively participating to enhance the awareness of citizens and tourists on environmental protection and promote the concept of ecological civilization.

At 10 a.m. on April 20, the event was officially opened in the Cuihu Ecological Civilization Exhibition Hall, Nie Er Square on Southwest Island, Jiulong Pond, and Guanyulou area. Through a series of interactive quizzes and games that are entertaining and educational, such as finding urban animal companions, playing the earth fun knowledge competition, low-carbon recycling "plastic war and plastic decision", and embracing the big water drop water saving initiative, everyone can participate in environmental protection actions.

During the activity, more than 20 volunteers from Southwest Forestry University guided the participants and popularized environmental protection knowledge. Participants turned into "environmental guardians" and visited ecological exhibition panels and science galleries to learn more about biodiversity. Take part in a fun quiz to learn about the "right way to care for the planet". Watch the "No Waste in the World" public welfare exhibition, learn about ecological environmental protection, low-carbon plastic reduction, and create a "zero-waste" world.
